Brazilian versus bikini line on the Barog price board
The Brazilian item covers the whole intimate area, often called VIO, and the board notes that the perianal zone is part of it. The bikini line is a smaller item for women that clears only the edges visible around swimwear.
Brazilian treatment is offered to both women and men, as a single session or as five- and ten-session packages. Men's figures are higher. With the ten-session package, the perianal area appears as a listed extra. Figures are in Korean won with VAT added, and the team reads the current numbers from the board for you.
How many Brazilian sessions to plan for
Hair in the VIO area is usually thick and dense, and like all body hair it grows in cycles. Only follicles that are actively growing respond on a given day, so a course generally runs to five or more sessions set four to eight weeks apart.
Hair thins progressively across the course. Regrowth afterwards varies, and hormonal changes can bring some of it back over time.
Comfort during a Brazilian session
This is one of the more sensitive places to treat. Barog uses the Apogee laser, a non-contact system designed to limit discomfort, and numbing cream can be applied beforehand for intimate areas. Allow fifteen to forty minutes per body area for the laser itself.
Expect some redness and small swellings at the follicles for a few hours, sometimes up to a day. Loose cotton underwear makes the rest of the day easier.
Getting ready for a Brazilian appointment
Trim or shave the VIO area a day ahead, including any parts you find hard to reach, and let the team know if you would like help with the last touches. Waxing and plucking should stop for a few weeks so the roots stay in place for the laser.
For the rest of the day, skip saunas, hot baths and hard workouts that heat the skin, and choose loose clothing over tight synthetic fabric.
Reasons to delay VIO laser treatment
Sessions are put off after recent tanning, while taking light-sensitising medicines, during an active infection or skin irritation in the area, and usually during pregnancy. Tattoos near the bikini line are assessed individually.
Side effects to know by name: redness, puffy follicles, skin that darkens or pales for a while, folliculitis and, uncommonly, burns.
