How an ear lobe injection feels
Numbing cream is applied to the lobe and left to take effect before the injection starts. Most people describe the treatment itself as pressure and a brief sting as the product goes in, and many hyaluronic acid fillers also contain lidocaine, which dulls the area further during the session. The injection takes around ten to twenty minutes, plus the waiting time for the cream.
The lobe is small and soft, so only a modest volume is placed. The doctor shapes it by hand as the product settles, which can feel firm but should not be painful.
Ear lobe filler downtime, day by day
On the day, expect some redness, tenderness and a slightly fuller look than the final shape. Daily activities can continue straight away, including walking around Seomyeon or taking a train. Over the next few days the swelling settles and the lobe softens to its intended contour. If a bruise appears at an injection point, it usually fades within the same few days.
Tenderness on pressure is common for a short time, so some people sleep on their back for the first night or two if lying on the treated side feels sore.
Heavy earrings, pressure and bruising after the injection
Pressure on a freshly treated lobe can push product out of shape and makes tenderness last longer. Leave heavy or dangling earrings out until the swelling has gone. Blood thinners and some supplements increase the chance of bruising, so tell the doctor about them before the appointment.
When pain or swelling is not part of normal recovery
Pain that increases after the first day, warmth, spreading redness or discharge can point to infection, which is rare but needs prompt review. A firm lump that remains once the swelling has settled should also be checked. Other possible effects are asymmetry between the two lobes and small nodules.
Treatment is postponed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or inflammation at the lobe, or if you have previously reacted to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine. People who tend to form keloids should discuss this first, and the doctor decides after examining the ear.
Ear lobe filler price and case background
Ear filler is priced per cc, with VAT added separately. The entry product starts from ₩180,000, and imported products are listed from ₩350,000, with lower per-cc rates when more volume is used. Body filler cases at Barog Clinic exceed 30,000 since 2021; that figure combines every body area and is not an ear-only count.
