Why the face needs extra planning
Facial skin is on show every day, catches the most sun, and sits close to features such as the eyelids, nose and lips. That makes the size and colour of the healed mark matter more than it would on the back or arm. It also means sun exposure during healing has a bigger effect, because brownish post-inflammatory pigmentation shows up most on the cheeks and forehead.
For these reasons the doctor looks at each face mole individually, noting its depth and exactly where it sits, before agreeing on a plan.
Flat and raised face moles
A flat face mole is often shallow and comes off in a single session with a few light laser passes. A raised one needs more passes to bring it level with the surrounding skin. If a raised mole has a deep root, the doctor may treat it in two stages a few weeks apart so the cheek or chin is not left with a dent. Deep moles can recur, and a follow-up removal is then planned.
People with many small spots across the face can weigh size-based pricing against two whole-face event bundles: moles only from ₩99,000, or moles together with blemishes in one day from ₩290,000. Both exclude VAT.
How big is the mark left on the face?
The treated spot is roughly the size of the mole that was there. For about 7 to 14 days it carries a small scab under recovery tape. The new skin is then pink for several weeks and gradually fades over the following months. A slight dip is possible, more so after a deep mole, and it too tends to soften with time.
Less common outcomes include darker pigmentation, especially without sunscreen, and rarely a raised hypertrophic scar in people prone to keloids. Mention any keloid history at the consultation.
Prominent face moles and safety screening
A large or striking mole is often the one people most want gone, and it deserves the closest look. A mole with an uneven border, mixed colours, recent growth, bleeding or itching is referred for assessment and biopsy, and is not lasered for appearance. Pregnancy and active infection at the site are also reasons to postpone.
For visitors, timing matters: book early in a trip to Busan so the scab phase passes before photos. The clinic is about two minutes on foot from Seomyeon Station and open until 8pm on weekdays and until 4pm on Saturdays.
