What Rejuran is made of
The active ingredient is polynucleotide: long chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, extracted from salmon and purified so that the proteins which usually trigger reactions are removed. The standard product, Rejuran Healer, is a clear gel delivered through many tiny injections across the treated area.
Variants share the same base. Rejuran HB combines PN with hyaluronic acid for added hydration, and Rejuran i is an eye-area formulation made for the thinner skin under and around the eyes. All three appear on the Barog price board as separate lines.
How salmon polynucleotide supports skin repair
Polynucleotide fragments are thought to act in two ways. They give damaged tissue a supply of nucleotide material that cells can reuse, and laboratory and clinical studies suggest PN encourages fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin, to become more active. The overall effect people notice is slow and cumulative: finer texture, better bounce and a calmer, more even surface.
Because the mechanism works through the skin's own processes, change builds over weeks. That is why a course of three to four sessions, three to four weeks apart, is the general pattern. A single injection of PN will not reshape a feature or fill a fold, and it is not designed to.
How Rejuran differs from hyaluronic acid boosters and Re2O
A classic water glow injection delivers hyaluronic acid, which holds moisture and gives a fairly quick dewy look. Rejuran carries PN, whose main role is repair and regeneration, so the timeline and goal are different. Re2O is another category again: it supplies human-derived extracellular matrix to the dermis. The three can sit in one plan, but they are not substitutes for each other.
For someone deciding between them, a simple rule helps. Dryness and dullness point toward hydrating boosters. Thin, tired, easily irritated skin with fine lines points toward PN. The consultation in Seomyeon, Busan starts from the skin itself and only then picks the material.
Who should not have Rejuran
Since the material comes from salmon, a known allergy to fish or salmon-derived ingredients rules it out. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection or inflammation where the injections would go, and an active phase of autoimmune disease also mean waiting or choosing something else. Tell the team if you take blood thinners, because bruising becomes more likely.
Expected after-effects are small raised bumps and pinpoint marks for one to three days, sometimes with redness, swelling or a bruise. Infection is uncommon. Numbing cream is applied first and the session itself takes around twenty to thirty minutes. On the Barog board, a 1cc session is listed from ₩150,000 before tax.
